Alexander received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the Hamburg University with specialization in genetics and immunology. He then went on to study molecular medicine at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and gained research experience in the group of Lisa Westerberg at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm (Sweden) where he worked on immunodeficiencies linked to the Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome protein. During his master thesis he joined Lisa Sevenich’s group and investigated the therapeutic targeting of tumor-associated macrophages and microglia in the tumor microenvironment of brain metastasis. In 2018, he joined the Medyouf group as a PhD student to study the role of extra-cellular matrix proteins in human bone metastasis.

Irene hat einen Master in integriertem Qualitätsmanagement für die Prävention von Umwelt- und Arbeitsrisiken sowie einen Master und Doktortitel in molekularer und zellulärer Immunologie von der Universität Granada (Spanien), wo sie die aus spontan abgetriebenen Embryonen isolierten dendritischen Zellen charakterisierte. Ab 2008 arbeitete Irene als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin in der Abteilung für Innere Medizin der Berliner Charité. Seit 2015 ist Irene im Labor von Dr. Medyouf und seit 2023 auch im Labor der Transgeneinheit beschäftigt. Dort ist sie verantwortlich für Generierung der transgenen Mäuse.

Ioanna received her bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt and was trained in the group of Prof. Dr. Claudia Fournier at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt. She then pursued her master’s degree in Technical Biology at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In 2019 she joined Dr. Medyouf’s group for her master thesis. Her main research focuses on the biology of NK cells in tumor contexts.

Maresa hat ihre Ausbildung zur biologisch-technischen Assistentin in Überlingen/Bodensee absolviert. Seit 1999 arbeitet sie im Georg-Speyer-Haus. 2016 wechselte Maresa innerhalb des GSH zur Forschungsgruppe von Dr. Medyouf, um den Forscher:innen bei projektbezogenen Experimenten zu assistieren und ihnen im Mauskolonienmanagement zu unterstützen.
