Canan Arkan appointed Professor for Tumor Metabolism at LOEWE-Centre FCI & Georg-Speyer-Haus

Melek Canan Arkan is appointed to the W2 Professor for Tumor Metabolism from the LOEWE-Zentrum Frankfurt Cancer Institute at the Institute for Tumor Biology and Experimental Therapy, Georg-Speyer-Haus. She received her Ph.D. at the University of Turin, Italy and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California San Diego in USA. She started her independent research group at the Technical University of Munich first and joined later Goethe University Frankfurt and Georg-Speyer-Haus. Her laboratory investigates metabolic derangements in cancer with specific emphasis on regulating microbiome and circadian clock, and questions whether dietary interventions can be used in cancer prevention and therapy.
